Build the Vision

We both bring images — things we’ve found, things we’ve imagined. Combined with AI-generated references and image searches, we narrow it down until something clicks. You’ll know it when you see it.

Paint & Document

I work primarily in watercolor, combined with colored pencil, acrylic, and other mixed media — all on paper. I film the process and put it on YouTube with English and Japanese subtitles. The video is yours to use freely.

Delivered to You

The original works ship directly from my studio in Cambodia. The video stays online permanently. Your story becomes a real, physical thing.

Send me a message through the contact form or on Instagram / X. Just tell me roughly what’s on your mind — no need to have it figured out yet.

Find the Theme

Theme discussion

We connect over video call or chat, look at images together, and narrow it down to one clear direction. I’ll generate some AI references to make sure we’re seeing the same thing.

Payment & Creation

Full payment upfront, then I start

Once the theme is locked, I ask for full payment upfront. Then I disappear into the studio. I’ll check in with progress photos along the way.

Delivery

Artwork ships, video goes live

I ship the originals from my studio in Cambodia. Shipping is not included in the commission price — I’ll confirm the exact shipping cost to your location before we finalize. The YouTube video goes live and I send you the link.

The video copyright stays with me (Hiroto Aoyagi), but you receive full rights to share, repost, and use it however you like. How much you appear in the video is up to you — from full anonymity to being featured. Ownership of the physical works transfers to you upon shipping.

About the Artist

Why me?

A little context

I’m Hiroto Aoyagi — a Japanese artist who moved to Cambodia about 15 years ago and never really left. I work in watercolor, mixed media, manga illustration, and music.

What I find interesting about commissions isn’t just making something pretty. It’s the conversation before the brush hits paper — figuring out what someone actually cares about, then finding a way to make that visible. The AI image process we do together isn’t just a reference tool; it’s how we discover the image that’s already in your head.

The video documents all of this. So whatever gets made, there’s a permanent record of how it came to exist.
